Global Fat Bike Day
Every year on the first Saturday in December it is Global Fat Bike Day. We like to celebrate by getting together and having a fun group ride. This year’s ride time and location are TBD, so check back here for more, or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Strava.
Brewery Meetup - Drekker Brewing Company
Come on down to Drekker Brewing Company to hang out with us! This is your opportunity to learn a bit more about what Flatlands Cycling is if you don’t already know, and hear about the cool things we have planned for 2024. It’ll also be a great chance to catch up with friends, talk cycling, and share stories of your riding adventures in 2024. Hope to see you there!
WoodBurner Group Ride
The WoodBurner is a arms wide open embrace of Fall (and maybe even early winter). We’ll take our fat bikes out to the Sheyenne National Grassland for a group ride on the North Country Trail. The soil there is pretty sandy in spots which is why a fat bike is the preferred bike choice for this ride. More details to come!

100 Mile Century Group Road Ride
Have you ever wanted to try a 100 mile bike ride? This is your chance! We’ll be leading a group ride on Saturday, August, 24th that will go at least 100 miles in and around Fargo-Moorhead. More details to come.
2nd Annual FM-Duro
It’s back! This unique and popular event from 2023 is back on our calendar for 2024. We are once again partnering with the FM Trail Builders to bring you a fun, enduro style race that takes riders over nearly every mile of trail we have in the Fargo-Moorhead metro.
F-M MTB Race Series - Race 4
This is an exciting new addition to our calendar this year. We are currently working with the F-M Trail Builders to bring a weekly Mountain Bike race series to Fargo-Moorhead. We plan to hold 4 races on Monday Evenings in the month of July. Dates will be 7/8, 7/15, 7/22, and 7/29. Final details are still being worked out - more information to come!

WoodTicker Gravel Fondo
The WoodTicker is a mostly gravel event with distances of; ~50 kilometers, ~100 kilometers, and ~150 kilometers. Exact Course and Distances TBD. Route and .GPX File will be available prior to the event.
Spring 100km Group Road Ride
By the time May comes around we are all eager to get out on our bikes and log what is typically our first longer road ride of the year. The weather is usually nice and more reliable by this time, and we want to get out and really stretch our legs after a long winter. If you think the way we do, you’ll want to join us for this one. We’ll go roughly 100km, known as a “metric century”. If you can’t do the conversion, that is about 62 miles. We’ll plan the route, set a time and meeting place - join us!
El Zagel Spring Classic Road Ride
Join us as we partner with Dave Elofson, the F/M Back 40’s Social Club, and BIke Walk North Dakota for the first El Zagel Spring Classic. This is a fun event for the whole family. Part of the festivities that FLC will be involved with is leading a 25-30 mile group road bike ride. Expect an average pace of around 15-17mph on this fun, no-drop group ride. February Group Ride - MB Johnson Park
In February we will be gathering at MB Johnson Park on Saturday the 17th for a group fat bike ride. We’ll meet at the farthest North-West parking lot. Wheels will begin rolling around 10:00am, but will gather as early as 9:00am if you want to catch up with everyone before the ride begins. We plan to ride at least one lap of the trail, but are open to doing more if the going is good! We’ll have hot and cold beverages following the riding.
January Group Ride
Join us at Iwen Park on Saturday, January 13th for a group fat bike ride. We’ll meet at the Lions Conservatory parking lot. Wheels will begin rolling around 10:00am, and we will ride a couple laps of the trail. We’ll be there at 9:00am if you want to get there early and catch up!
Global Fat Bike Day
Global Fat Bike day is a day for getting out on our fat bikes and celebrating both winter and how awesome our local trails are. Save the date for December 2nd. More information to come.
MDH Buck-Fifty (CLOSES)
The buck stops here! This is L.A.N.D.’s most epic race yet, the MDH BUCK-FIFTY. No excuses, no cop-outs, no whining, no doubt about it, YOU are 100% responsible for YOU at this race, from your training and preparation, to crossing the finish line of one of the longest and most brutal continuous single-track trails in the world. This is one of the RADDEST and BADDEST endurance racing accomplishments a person can aspire to attempt.

Save the Date for October 28th for a fun fat bike ride in the Sheyenne Grasslands! We’ll gather in Jorgen’s Hollow campground and depart from there. Check back here for more information as we develop plans for this event.

In the spring we have the WoodTicker, and in the fall we have the WoodChipper! We are still developing plans for this event, but check back here for more information.
F-M Duro
Riders will be required to ride a lap of each trail system in town - Iwen, Gooseberry, and MB Johnson Park. The times from each trail will be recorded and cumulated together and we’ll see who can do it the fastest.
MNMTB Series Race #10 - Laddies Loppet
The final stop of the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series is at Maplelag Resort. Laddies Loppet takes place every Labor Day weekend. If you haven’t made it out for this race before make sure you don’t miss it this year!
MNMTB Series Race #9 - Cuyuna Crusher
Voted MNMBS 'Best Race' in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2021 and record setting participation in 2022, the Cuyuna Crusher is an experience like non other.
MNMTB Series Race #7 - Detroit Mountain Shakedown
Round 7 of the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series stops at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Nepomuk Narly
This is the 3rd annual Nepomuk Narly Gravel race in Pisek, ND. Last year this event drew professional cyclists like Adam Roberge and Adam Saban, who you may know from the “Bonk Bros” podcast, thanks to a large prize purse. The gravel looks pretty good too. This is definitely an event you want to put on your radar for 2023!
Bikepacking Overnighter
Have you heard about this bikepacking thing? We can tell you that it’s a lot of fun, and if you have never tried it before this is your opportunity! We’ll ride from Fargo to Jorgen’s Hollow Campground in the Sheyenne Grasslands for a one night stay before riding back to Fargo.
WoodTicker Gravel
Join us in Hawley, MN for a fun day of gravel riding in the rolling hills of western Minnesota. We are keeping this local favorite alive in 2023 and hopefully beyond. The date is set for June 17th, check back soon for more information about this event.
Badlands Gravel Battle
Come GRIND across 120 miles, and ROLL over 10,500 ft of elevation gain on the fast and rugged red scoria roads that crosshatch the BADLANDS of western North Dakota.
